Gamers are roasting terrible UI/UX designs that hide the 'Press Any Key' prompt. From Cyberpunk to No Man's Sky, here is why Reddit is raging.

3 AM. You crack a monster energy, fire up your rig, ready to carry your trash teammates. You boot up a new game, the intro plays seamlessly, and then... nothing. You stare at the screen for 15 minutes, wondering if your GPU just bricked itself. Nope. The game was waiting for you to press a button, but the "Press Any Key to Start" prompt was completely invisible. GG WP, developers.
This exact frustration exploded on r/gaming recently in a post titled "Oh, that is why", snatching over 5k upvotes. The image perfectly encapsulates the pain of staring at what you think is a loading screen, only to realize the game is waiting for your input without actually telling you. It's like the UI/UX designer just went AFK during the most crucial part of launching the game.
The comment section quickly turned into a support group for gamers traumatized by terrible start menus. They didn't hold back, dragging even the biggest AAA titles through the mud:
Long story short, if you're a game dev reading this: Keep the start screen simple. Put a massive, glowing "Press Start" prompt right in the middle of the screen.
If players have high ping, they can always install a game booster designed to reduce game ping and stabilize gaming networks for players around the world to fix their connection. But there is absolutely no software out there that can fix a fundamentally stupid UI. Don't make launching your game harder than the actual final boss, or you'll get hit with that early refund and a negative Steam review.
